Is the hot melt adhesive film and self-adhesive the same adhesive?
Whether hot-melt adhesive film and self-adhesive are the same product, this question seems to have plagued many people. Here I can tell you clearly that hot melt adhesive film and self-adhesive are not the same adhesive product. We can briefly understand the difference between the two from the following three aspects:
1. The difference in bonding strength: Hot melt adhesive film is a heat-bonded adhesive. It is a solid state with stable performance at room temperature and does not have viscosity. It will be sticky only when it is melted, and it will solidify after cooling, without stickiness, a bit like plastic. There are many types of hot melt adhesive films, and different types of hot melt adhesive films have different melting points, which basically cover low temperature, medium temperature, and high temperature. Self-adhesives are actually self-adhesives. They are sticky at room temperature. They also have a melting point, but generally the melting point is very low, about 40 degrees. The lower the melting point, the lower the bonding strength after cooling, which is also an important reason why the self-adhesive adhesive is easier to tear after being pasted.
2 The difference in environmental protection: The environmental protection of hot melt adhesive film should be said to be recognized by various industries, and it is the characteristics of environmental protection that have been widely used. The production and processing cost of self-adhesive adhesive is relatively low, but its environmental protection performance is indeed not comparable to that of hot melt adhesive film.

3. The difference in the method of use: the use of hot melt adhesive film mainly relies on the compounding machine to compound the materials. The self-adhesive has a low melting point and is liquid, which is difficult to make into other shapes. The method of “brushing” is mainly used when applying the glue. The disadvantage of this method is that the glue tends to block the pores on the fabric, causing air tightness.
